Nestled in the middle of three and a half acres of beautiful island scrub oak groves bedded with blueberry bushes and surrounded by a large sunny yard is a beautiful 4 bedroom contemporary Cape. The traditional cedar shingled exterior blends with the landscape; inside is wonderfully comfortable contemporary living space with soaring ceilings and light streaming from above into an open living area.
The Family Room, with its cathedral ceiling and fireplace is open to a cook’s kitchen with center-island eat-in area. The adjacent dining area, which seats up to eight, looks out through sliders onto the huge sunny deck. The deck has both lounging and dining furniture, a gourmet (stainless 4 burner) gas grill and at the far end a wonderful outdoor shower. A second door off the deck leads from the outdoor shower into a back hallway with mud-room closet, half-bath, laundry area (with washer & dryer), turns a corner, past a pantry and back into the kitchen. Off the back hallway is the Master Bedroom with Full Bath and his-and-hers closets. From the Family Room a front door leads out to a shady Farmer’s Porch with rockers when you want to read quietly or have had enough sun. Stairs lead up from the Family Room to the second floor center hallway to a second bedroom with queen bed, a third bedroom (“The Kids’ Room”) with bunk beds plus a twin bed, and a fourth bedroom/sleeping loft with full bed above the Family Room. A large full bath with a linen closet is also off upstairs hallway. This family-friendly house has built-in bookshelves with books, games, and videos and an entertainment center in the family room with satellite TV, VCR, DVD, and CD. Outdoors is a large sunny lawn where children can play when they are done with the beach. The house is new to the rental market and was redecorated and refurnished during the 2003/2004 off-season. In addition to the standard amenities, all new beds and bedding, high thread count cotton sheets, Egyptian cotton towels and a fully-equipped kitchen assure that your stay will be both comfortable and convenient. The house, which is located in the beautiful Quansoo area of Chilmark, is off South Road in between Alley’s General Store and Lucy Vincent Beach which adds convenience to the peace and privacy of this special island sanctuary. And of course, with the lease of a house in Chilmark, access is available to spectacular Lucy Vincent Beach and Squibnocket Beach.
